Who is Lukas Wenig?

Lukas Wenig is a professional darts player from Marburg in Germany, born in 1994. He throws right-handed, plays as "Luu" and walks on to Give It All by Rise Against. He played PDC qualifiers and secondary tours for several years before turning full-time on the PDC circuit, and reached the last 96 of the 2022 UK Open, where fellow German Florian Hempel beat him 6-3.

In January 2024 he won a two-year PDC Tour Card at European Q-School.

How did Lukas Wenig break through?

His breakthrough came in 2025, his second season on the tour. In March he hit a nine-dart finish at Players Championship 8 in Hildesheim. Later in the year, back in Hildesheim, he reached his first PDC ranking final at Players Championship 23, losing 8-5 to Jermaine Wattimena.

On 31 October 2025 he came through the Tour Card holder qualifier in Wigan to reach the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton for the first time. He lost his opening group match to Danny Noppert, then beat Jonny Clayton 5-3 and Cam Crabtree 5-1 to top Group H. In the last 16 he beat fellow German Niko Springer 10-8, levelling the match with a 154 checkout, before Noppert beat him again in the quarter-finals. It was his first quarter-final at a PDC major.

How has Lukas Wenig played in 2026?

Wenig made his World Championship debut at Alexandra Palace in December 2025, losing 3-1 in sets to Wesley Plaisier in the first round of the 2026 tournament. He finished the 2025 season inside the top 64 of the PDC Order of Merit, the cut-off for keeping a Tour Card, and was ranked 64th as at 18 October 2026.
