Flight Protectors

A protector clips over the top edge of a flight and takes the strike from an incoming dart, so the flight underneath keeps its shape.

The case for them scales with how well you group. Once three darts are genuinely landing in the same treble, your own darts are the main thing damaging your flights — and a protector costs a fraction of replacing flights weekly.

They add a small amount of weight right at the back of the dart, where it has the most leverage, so it is worth throwing a few legs with them fitted before committing. A flight punch is needed to cut the hole they clip through.
