About AFL
About AFL
The competition was formed in 1896 as the Victorian Football League, when six clubs broke away from the Victorian Football Association, and it was renamed the Australian Football League in 1990. It has 18 clubs as of October 2026. The darts products on this page carry official AFL club artwork under licence.
What is AFL known for?
For darts, the AFL licence means club colours and logos on the gear around the board: the dartboard, the cabinet, the surround and the flights. The board inside a set still has to play properly, which is why several of our AFL bundles pair the official AFL surround with a Winmau Blade bristle dartboard.
Which AFL range suits you?
Dartboard and cabinet bundles. The Official AFL Dartboard, Cabinet & Darts Bundle puts a club-design bristle dartboard in a club cabinet with darts, so it is ready to hang and play.
Winmau Blade bundles. The Blade 6, Blade X and Blade 360 bundles each pair a Winmau bristle dartboard with an official AFL surround and darts. Choose by board: our Winmau Blade guide below compares the boards.
Surrounds and dartboards. The Official AFL Surround fits around a standard dartboard and protects the wall from missed darts. The Official AFL Dartboard is the club-design board on its own.
Flights. Official AFL Dart Flights add club colours to any set without changing the barrels.
